Club Manager 2022
Online Hotseat (Steam)

Play the classic ‘Hotseat’ mode with up to three friends online.

Play the classic ‘Hotseat’ mode with up to three friends online. One of the most popular features from the series’ golden era was the ability to play together with several friends on one PC. Classic hotseat holds up, but we have decided to make it even better.

Hot Seat mode can now be played online with friends via the ‘Remote Play Together’ Steam feature.

Here, the game can be streamed to a friend, who takes their turn and sends input back to the game, making you feel like you are playing together.

Tactics engine

Classic gameplay with modern football

The central element for the preparation, line-up and tactical setup of the team for a match day. The game uses the ‘Tactics’ engine. The goal in developing the Tactics engine is to stick to the series’ classic gameplay while integrating trends in modern football, such as new tactics and updates to rules.

For example, the ‘back pass’ rule has revolutionized modern goalkeeping and goalkeeper training, allowing keepers to become modern sweepers.

To accommodate for this, ‘classic’ goalkeeper skills have been updated to more modern ones, such as dribbling (for quickly gaining space), pressure pass play (for moving the ball the width of the field and short distances) and flying balls (for those looking to take advantage of open diagonals).

In-game training supports the Tactics engine and focuses more on technology, variable tactics, and flexible strategies. Other tools such as ‘lousy tricks" have been left behind.

Game editor

Use the Editor to plan game situations and develop your own football philosophy and tactics

As a modern coach, it is important to have a detailed match plan so to be prepared for any situation.

The Editor gives players access to a spiritual successor to the popular ‘concept trainer’ of old. In the Editor, games run according to fixed principles and pretrained routines.

The Editor helps the coach in developing if-then strategies and communicating them to the team via training and preparation.

Prefer the old-fashioned approach? You can still have the whole team drag medicine balls up a hill.

Heat map

Use modern tools such as heat maps and performance indicators to analyze the performance of your team and players

Previously, only game events were analyzed. However, technical developments in the field of sensor technology and image processing have made it possible to record player position data and calculate more complex performance parameters.

Using heat maps, interactions and performance can be better evaluated, and displayed in the game to assist in modern game analysis and training control.

Scouting / transfer market

Build a worldwide network and discover future megastars

In addition to pure data analysis, the most important thing is to find those players who fit your club best, not only on the pitch but after the whistle is blown. The game features many well-known attributes and values, as well as 25 skills and 40 character traits. Have scouts support you in exploring the market for optimal trades, while you focus on building a global network to unearth the next big thing.

Alongside scouting, the youth academy is a key element to the game. As an underdog, you aren’t given as large budget and must advance the club financially via your team’s performance, to take on the larger clubs.

Manager talent tree

Find your own path

The previous ‘flat point tree’ for trainer and manager skills has evolved into a talent tree, offering more freedom in decision making and specialization.

Originally, players were given eight skills as a trainer or manager, onto which points could be allocated.

In Club Manager, each branch will feature several different options. Players must work to progress their talent tree in a way that best suits them, choosing those skills and effects that work to complement their own personal management style.
